Lot contains: (A) Prussian WWI Artillery Lion Head Sword, (B) Prussian M1889 Officer sword, and (C) Prussian WWI Artillery Lion Head Sword. (A) Prussian Artillery Officer deluxe Lion Head sword with a 33" blade marked "Waarenhaus Fur Armee & Marine, Berlin". Heavy nickel plated blade is excellent, with runner and scattered marks, and light freckling to about 5%. Deluxe brass fittings retain approximately 30% of their gilt finish. Wire-wrapped shark skin grip displays moderate wear and damage, with several loose strands. Black painted scabbard retains approximately 95% of its original finish, with some freckling, especially near the throat. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent. (B) Prussian M1889 sword with a 32" unmarked blade. Nickel plated blade is very good, with runner and scattered marks, and freckling. Entire front edge has been poorly sharpened. Wire wrapped shark skin grip has moderate wear, with several of the wire strands being loose. Grip has the Prussian emblem attached. Brass fittings retain less than 5% of the gilt finish, with heavy patina. Cross guard is named to a "Hptm. Henn. Essen.". Black plated steel scabbard retains approximately 35% of its original finish, with heavy freckling, and scattered marks throughout. CONDITION: Overall good to very good condition. (C) Prussian Artillery Officer deluxe Lion Head sword with a 33" blade marked "Alex Coppel, Solingen" and "Crown W, 17". Nickel plated blade is very good plus condition with runner and scattered marks, as well as freckling to approximately 5% of its surface. Deluxe brass fittings retain no noticeable gilt finish, with dried polish in the recesses. Shark skin grip exhibits moderate wear and staining, and the wire strands are tight. Blued steel scabbard retains approximately 50% of its finish with patina, freckling, scattered marks, and about a dozen dings. CONDITION: Overall very good. WZ
