Lot consists of (A) 20" Luristan bronze short sword circa 1st millennium BC. Features a a scarab shaped upward swept hilt and a grooved handle with conical pronounced pommel. (B) Babylonian region bronze short sword or dagger featuring a hollow handle for addition of organic grip material; coffin-shaped grip widens gradually from the pommel end towards the guard. Measures 17 - 1/2" total length. (C) Ancient Bronze Luristanian short sword. Features a tapered triangular 10 1/4" dagger shaped blade that is 1 3/4" wide. Fancy integral hollow handle that shows traces of ancient wood or other organic material that originally filled the void. 15" total length. CONDITION: Heavy green typical patina associated with ancient ground recovered items. Typical light edge nicks from period wear. BRM.
