Lot consists of 3 whale's teeth with scrimshaw decoration. (A) Obverse shows woman with dog in profile in front of draped doorway with trees in distance, captioned at bottom "Lucy." Reverse with child and hoop next to tree. Bouquet of roses at bottom. CONDITION: Very good. White in tone. (B) Obverse shows harpooned whale surfacing to take whaleboat in its jaws with rowers and steersman in distress. Feather decoration to tip. Reverse blank. CONDITION: Good. Some thin yellow stains. Short crack at bottom. (C) Obverse with caricature of seated heavy-set black woman with beehive hairdo captioned "Rachel Pringle / of Barbadoes." Reverse with large flying fish. CONDITION: Fair to good. White with dirt staining. Repaired cracks at top.
