Lot consists of 4 items. (A) Rations bill of Lt. Daniel Pierce, undated, for 6, 214, and 36 rations. Pierce was ensign RI Regt, Lieutenant 9th Continental and 1st RI. Resigned 1779. CONDITION: Good. (B) Receipt for pay for rations, 1778, Robert Rogers, Tallman’s RI Regiment and 1st RI. CONDITION: Short tear at top, tissue repair. (C) 1775 receipt for bill received from Maj. Jellis Fonda by Abraham Cuyler. Fonda was in the New York militia. (D) Receipt for money received for rations by Enoch Stanton Sept. 1778. Stanton was lieutenant 1st RI 1777-1779 and lieutenant RI militia when killed at Fort Griswold Sept. 1781. CONDITION: Good. Tape repairs on fold on reverse. Fort Griswold at Groton, Connecticut, was taken by British forces led in part by Benedict Arnold was known for the murder after surrender of Col. William Ledyard by a British officer.
