(A) C. 1950s Bandai “Fire Department Car with Automatic Bell Ringer,” lithographed pressed-tin friction automobile with original box, Made in Japan. Designed as an American-style fire chief staff car, the tinplate sedan is boldly decorated with lithographed firefighters and fire department-related graphics. (B) C. 1956 Alps Plymouth Belvedere Sedan, Japanese pressed-tin friction-drive automobile with original box. Finished in green, the sedan features detailed pressed-tin construction and friction-powered drive. (C) Haji “New DeSoto” Japanese tinplate friction-motor toy car with original box. (D) C. 1961–1962 Alps “Ford Falcon Station Wagon” Japanese tinplate friction-powered toy with original box. The station wagon features a red body with a cream-colored roof, chrome-colored trim, whitewall rubber tires, and a lithographed interior.
