Lot consists of: (A) Imperial German Bavarian Cavalry Sword, (B) Imperial German Prussian Cavalry Sword, (C) Imperial German Prussian M1889 Musician Sword, and (D) Imperial German Wuerttemberg Cavalry Sword. (A) Bavarian light cavalry sword with partially double etched unmarked 31" blade, with light runner and scattered marks. Blade has 2" of odd damage to each side of the blade near the fittings, which appear to have been done before it was plated. Nickel plated blade has several dings on the edge with etched floral pattern and "In Treue Fest" on 15% of each side, and overall very good. Nickel plated steel fittings retain approximately 75% of their finish with heavy patina. Black trylon grip appears to be undamaged. Black painted steel scabbard retains approximately 65% of it original finish, with freckling and marks throughout, especially on the tip. CONDITION: Overall very good. (B) Prussian cavalry sword with a 31" triple etched marked blade. Nickel plated blade is very good to excellent, with light runner, scattered marks, and moderate freckling near the cross guard. Etching consists of a floral pattern with cavalry scenes/ equipment. Wire wrapped shark skin grip is worn with several loose strands, and the nickel fittings have a uniform patina with scattered marks. Black painted steel scabbard retains approximately 75% of its original finish, with freckling and scattered marks throughout. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent condition. (C) Prussian M1889 Musician sword with a 32" blade marked "P.O. & Co.". Nickel plated blade is very good, with light runner, light scattered marks, several light dings, and light freckling. Wire wrapped shark skin grip has moderate to heavy wear, with a number of loose wire strands. Grip has the standard Prussian emblem, as well as a musicians emblem mounted. Brass fittings retain approximately 5% of the gilt finish, with heavy patina, with several dings near the top. Black Nickel plated steel scabbard retains approximately 50% of its original finish, with moderate freckling, scattered marks, and a dozen moderate to heavy dings. CONDITION: Overall good to very good condition. (D) Wuerttemberg cavalry sword with a triple double etched unmarked 33" blade, with runner and scattered marks. Nickel plated blade has several dozen light dings on the edge, with etched floral pattern and "Reiter Regiment Bad Cannstadtt" on one side and a cavalry scene on the other. Nickel plated steel fittings retain approximately 50% of their finish with heavy freckling and flaking. Black trylon wire wrapped grip has 50% of the wire strands loose. Nickel plated steel scabbard retains approximately 50% of it original finish, with freckling and marks throughout, especially on the tip. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. WZ
