Lot consists of: (A) Rare and early 1870-80s Comstock Miner's riveted tin candle lamp. From Virginia City, Nevada. Maker plate reads, "A. CHENTTE / MAKER / VIRGINIA, NEV." Style is the same as the only marked known examples of Adolph Chenette's lanterns, a local maker for mining lights. Examples are in Henry Pohs' book, "The Miners Flame Light Book." Lantern is complete, 12- 5/8" high to top of cover, with handle extended it is 19." Tinned curved holders push in to replace broken glass from channels if needed. All four panes are present, with one original piece exhibiting wavy distortion. (B) Four original stearic men's candles. Multi-piece tin gold pan (C) Small multi-piece tin classification pan. (D) Late 1800s tin miner's underground lunch pail. CONDITION: Very Good.
