Rare Marlin Model 1891 lever action rimfire rifle made by the Marlin Firearms Company from 1891 to 1897. Rare round blued rifled barrel with this being one of 3435 made with round barrel. Pedestal bead front sight and notched rear sight with first variation address "MARLIN FIREARMS CO NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PAT'D NOV. 19 1878 APRIL 2, 1889. AUG. 12. 1890.". Blued finish action with case hardened hammer and lever with "MARLIN SAFETY" on top with blued two thirds magazine tube. Walnut plain stock with crescent steel buttplate and plain walnut forearm. CONDITION: Metal has turned a plum patina with some surface corrosion. Wood has traces of original finish with usage marks and dings. Pitted bore with good mechanics. DLM
