Serial #: 8325g. Barrel length: 8". This is an excellent example of a late WWI German Artillery Luger as manufactured by the DWM factory. This pistol has a rust blued finish with the straw colored small parts with excellent checkered walnut grips. This example possesses British proof marks on the underside of the barrel. It is marked with the London Scimitar over NP, followed by "9 M/M, -752" 13 TONS". This was the final and definitive proof marking for firearms that were imported into England for commercial or military sales of the time period. The top of the chamber area is marked 1917 and the front toggle is marked "DWM", for Deutsche Waffen Und Munitions factory. The right side of the barrel extension has one proof marking that is indecipherable, followed by three "Crown/Script" proofs (believed to be TSS), next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The safety and extractor are correctly marked 'Gesichert" and "Geladen". It has the fixed front blade and artillery adjustable rear sight. Stock lug on the back strap. The magazine is a correct nickel-plated WWI version with a wood bottom base plate. The serial number suffix on the toggle train is a non-matching "66" to the rest of the gun, but appears to have most likely been an armory swap that took place long ago. A very nice example of a WWI German Luger pistol with the scarce British proof marks. Originality: 95%.
