Springfield early manufacture .30-03 cal. rifle in very good condition with nice cartouches, extremely rare 1st model of the M1903 in rare original caliber and with original rod bayonet and very low serial number. Piece appears to have armory modifications for testing or field trials. Additionally, piece has damaged front sight and split in forward hand guard. This earliest M1903 is extremely rare and it’s highly unusual to be offered for sale at any time. Overall length 43 ½”, barrel length 25”, Serial #91.
