Springfield Armory production single shot Maynard primer martial pistol in good-very good condition with no cartouches on stock, but initials GH on bottom of stock. Marked with U.S. Springfield and dated 1855 on lock plate, proofs on barrel, two leaf iron rear sight and iron front sight. Getting harder to find in today’s market. Overall length 17 - ¾” and barrel length 12”.

UPDATE/CORRECTION: 1855-1857. VP & EAGLE HEAD PROOFS. FOLDING (2) LEAF REAR SIGHT. FACTORY CUT FOR SHOULDER STOCK. C-H STAMP 1855 ON TANG & LOCK. STOCK IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FACTORY STAMPED. BRASS UNCLEANED PATINA. ALL METAL PATINA. BORE IS FROSTED BUT STRONG. STOCK HAS 2-1/2" CRACK EITHER SIDE OF LOCK PLATE. FUNCTIONAL.
