Serial No. 154014. Offered is your standard Colt US issued army 45 semi automatic government model. Manufactured in 1917, the year America went to war in Europe. Left side of the frame is stamped "US Property" with GHS Inspector. The pony is on the rear left side of slide, no circle. Right side of frame is stamped "Model 1911 US Army". All proper WWI attributes include long smooth trigger, small half moon front sight, short checkered wide spur hammer, finely checkered slide stop, safety and magazine release, straight smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop, and an unmarked pin two tone magazine with diamond checkered walnut grips. Blued barrel. Excellent bore. Perfect action. Gun retains 60-70% of the original factory war time finish with balance, smooth patina with minor freckle. The rear right side of slide is stamped "126" (Unit Number?) Grip strips have faded to gray patina. Pistol is housed in an original US holster with a belt in 1918 dated canvas magazine pouch. This is a wonderful WWI original outfit.
