Dating to approximately 1903 is this James Heddon and Son No. 1 Dowagiac Casting Bait, better known as the Slopenose. This early model measures 4" and is rigged with the deep gold washed belly cup and skew hardware, brass tail cap, hook hanger, and line tie, and a red painted 1 pin aluminum collar. Condition of this early classic shows significant wear to the collar paint and rusty hooks but otherwise has remarkable blue and white paint to the wooden body.
