This Manistee Casting Bait, aka the Manistee Surface Bait, is the only known example with both sides clearlystamped MANISTEE CASTING BAIT. This 4" example, dating to 1910 or earlier, features the typically seen blended green paint pattern with hand painted eyes, mouth, gills and fins, as well as painted, cupped central spinner. Original wire running through both the belly and tail cup allow for "easy" hook change is necessary. Condition of this all-time classic is at least very good+, but given how crudely finished most of Harris's wood baits are, this one may be considered as a nice example. The side stamping sets it apart from all others.
MANISTEE CASTING BAIT, CR HARRIS, MANISTEE, MI.
