Patent #330,793 belongs to Cornelius Lie, a resident of Trondhjem, Norway, inventor of a fascinating mechanical gorge hook bait, measuring nearly 2 1/2" in length. Hollow metal painted minnow houses this device, a simple gorge hook that when pulled from the line tie, forces the spear point hooks out from either side. Bait retains approximately 65% of it's original paint and silver finish. Central trigger bar is stamped with the patent date, Nov. 17, 1885, a very early fishing device!
