A classic bell toy from the latter part of the 19th century depicting a black youth in a tug of war with an alligator. As was always the case with this particular manufacturer of toys much attention was paid to the details such as elaborate thin castings, brightly colored figures, and themes indicating the social or political thoughts of the time period. This example overall is a nice clean example without any issues and/or damage.
