Three various wood bodied frog baits, hand carved and painted, all showing signs of being heavily fished and in various states of disrepair. Previously described as an unknown folk art frog, these three were most likely in heavy rotation by the family. Includes a photocopied letter from Cleve C. Speer, Jr., son and great nephew of the original makers of this wonderful bait, Cleve C. Speer, Sr. and Charles E. Speer, dated 2009. Frog appears to date to 1920s but an exact date is currently unknown.
LOT OF 3: SPEER FAMILY SURFACE FROGS.
