Measuring in at 44-1/2" in length x 9-1/8" in width is one of the single finest known Nash of Maine trout mounts. The incredibly beautiful mount features 5 Brook Trout, each measuring approximately 13" in length, each in fine, original condition, and all mounted with an intertwined birch bark branch, nailed to a large oval oak board which in turn is mounted to the large rectangular oak board with planed border. Hand written "Nash of Maine" on the bottom of the round mounted board and mounted with a period hanger on the back. We can find no comparable example from this artist and it is quite likely that this is one of his finest known mountings. The originator of the "Trout Mezzo", the only artistic method of mounting fish.
