Extraordinary condition on this 3-3/4" Hiram Leonard raised pillar salmon reel, finished in bronze and German silver, large counterbalanced handle, strong click, and unaltered original foot. Reel features include a crisp and clear front marking: "H. L. Leonard, Pat. Jun 12, 1877", flip up oil port and the Edward Payne patented sliding drag lever, both on the unmarked back plate. Extremely bright and shiny condition, there is a small indent at 11 O'clock on the back plate (nearly unnoticeable) and some small nicks to the bottom of the foot. This reel, along with the Philbrook & Painemarbleized salmon reel, make up the ultimate in classic salmon reel collectables.
H.L. LEONARD BI-METAL RAISED PILLAR SALMON REEL.
