Friend 5 hook Kent Minnow, 4" model. Samuel Friend ran FA Pardee & Co, Kent, OH, from 1903 to 1905, where in 1905 he became the official successor to Pardee, renaming it The Samuel Friend Co. This minnow is considered to be a product of Samuel Friend, although it is possible that it was made sometime prior to 1905, it is generally consideredto date to 1905. This 5 hook underwater minnow features a more streamlined body profile, dark greenish back, silver body, with red gill marks, wire through hardware, and larger sized aluminum spinners. Condition of this classic bait is about very good, showing in use wear, chips, and 2 broken treble hooks but it amazingly still retains the side stamp, THE"KENT" clearly shown on the left side of the minnow, a feature not found on every example.
THE KENT WOODEN MINNOW FROM SAMUEL FRIEND.
