Adorable and Distinctly Old Fashioned Looking Prewar Steiff Lamb and an Unmarked Mohair Dachshund. This 14 cm tall lamb is standing on all fours and unjointed. Her excelsior-stuffed body is made from white lamb's wool plush, which has mellowed to a vanilla color. Her face is detailed with green and black glass pupil eyes, a touch of pink airbrushing, and a simple red hand embroidered nose and mouth. She retains her original bell and pink silken ribbon. This pattern was produced in 14, 17, 22, and 28 cm from 1928-1943 overall; this particular example is from the early part of that time frame. The Dachshund is 18 cm tall, head jointed, and standing. He is made from long lovely copper colored mohair. His face is detailed with a black hand embroidered nose and mouth and tri-colored glass almond shaped eyes. Condition: As noted. Both items are in very good to excellent condition overall. Provenance: from the Patsy Ziemer Collection; this item comes with copies of the Ziemer family history.
