5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Manufactured 1918. Offered is a standard Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army with blued finish, not black Army. Stamped "United States Property" on right side of frame and "Model of 1911" on right side of slide. Pistol retains approximately 40% original factory blue with the balance appearing to have simply flaked off due to holster wear. Sharp edges and legends. All proper parts to include U-notch rear sight, smooth long trigger, short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, diamond checkered walnut grip, straight mainspring housing with lanyard. Strong clean bore. Perfect action. Comes with the original World War I rig to include a 1916 RIA holster (written inside: Hal. S. Ray. Capt. U.S.A.), web belt, 1918 magazine pouch with two extra magazines, and a canteen holder marked "U.S. 103".
