Golliwogs and Teddy bears have been best friends since Florence K. Upton brought these playful characters to life in a series of children's books in the late 1800's. Both of these charming dolls are 11" tall, made from felt, and are fully jointed. Golliwog is from 1996 and is the first edition of the R. John Wright Collector Club. He wears black and white paints, a green coat, tan vest, white gloves, and leather shoes. Miss Golly is from 1997-1998 and is the second Collector's Club exclusive and the companion to Golliwog. She wears a red polka dotted dress, cream-colored hat, and fine shoes. She carries a matching handbag. Golliwog has a certificate stating that he is number 852/2,500 and Miss Golly is tagged 852/2,500. The pair are finely designed, detailed, and manufactured, and present beautifully together. Both are in new condition overall with all original boxes and paperwork, as well as club ephemera.
