Made for one year only. Tiki-Niki is 30 cm tall and unjointed. He has a hard stuffed torso and soft plastic head, hands, and feet. His arms and legs, which are hidden by his outfit, are made from rather industrial looking nylon cording. His hands and feet attach to this cording via tiny metal staples. Tiki-Niki wears his original light blue terrycloth jumpsuit that laces up the front pirate-style with a cobalt blue lace. His shoes are part of his molded rubber legs; they are grey and quite simple and boxy in design. This doll was made in this size only for one year, in 1973. Tiki-Niki is the creation of Denys Watkins Pitchford, a profilic English author. Pitchford wrote close to 60 books about nature over his lifetime. Nine of these books were written as children's novellas, featuring Tiki-Niki and his best friend, Bill Badger. A swiss TV network created a television series for children based on these beloved stories in the early 1970's. Knowing a good thing when they saw it, Steiff created a Tiki-Niki doll a few years later to capitalize on the success of this popular family-friendly program. Condition: This doll retains his Steiff button and yellow tag. He has a light touch of playwear to him, including some facial rubbing. In original, very good condition overall.

Item Dimensions: 11'' L.
STEIFFS EXTREMELY RARE TIKI-NIKI DOLL.
