Scabbard is marked Waterloo. The sword with curved 32" wide blade, with single wide fuller. Lower portion of blade with conventional fire-blued finish and gold-washed engraved panels showing floral scrolls, national crest and GR. Stirrup “P” hilt with plain languets and wire-wrapped ribbed leather grip. Two ring mounts. Left side of scabbard engraved with legend: W & S Dawes/Birmingham. Blade showing rust deposits at tip and wear overall with minor nicks in edge of blade. Hilt with light wear and grip with losses to wire-wrap. Scabbard with field wear and minor dents.
