The officer’s sword with straight Klingenthal 30-3/4" blade of diamond section. Two narrow fullers. Left ricasso with obscure inscription and two oval cartouches. One, crown over R, the other obscure. Clamshell guard broken, knuckle-bow with intertwined branches. One-piece grip with four pearl elements, the central one carved with what appears to be the profile of a Roman leader. Gold-finished corner trim. Round pommel adorned with leafage and snakes. Blade showing wear and pitting. Hilt missing part of main guard, minor chip to grip but piece present. Knuckle-bow with minor losses to finish.
