The British Staff Officer's scarlet coatee with heavy, bullion fringed epaulettes, having bullion crown, cross of St. George and royal cypher. Navy blue wool stand-up collar. Navy blue wool plaquette front with two outer rows of seven smooth brass buttons. Two left breast medal loops. Left breast with medal, the edge reading: John Judkin Butler. Carmine sash with fringed ends. Tails with bullion stars. Scattered moth damage with frayed lining. Sash with wear. Medal with age patina. Circa 1829.
