The cedar jewelry chest with brass escutcheon on top reading: The Gift of His Majesty/ George [rampant lion] IVth/May 5th 1827. Brass flush hardware and corner protectors. Circular lock mechanism in front [no key]. Ends with flush brass handles. Interior with Prussian Blue velvet and cotton padding and similar color lift-out lid containing multiple compartments. Lower part of box also with compartments. Top of chest marked with wear and many bruises and dents. Velvet torn and showing losses. Size: 10-1/8" x 13-7/8" x 5-5/8".
