11/16” smoothbore, 42" barrel with three bands [the first a double]. Flintlock mechanism marked: Virginia/Manufactory/Richmond/1818. No rattlesnake or patch box present. Stock is 53" long. Appears to be varnished walnut. Bottom of stock in front of trigger guard stamped: FF. Steel buttplate. Right side of stock with letter “A “carved into butt. Ramrod is 41 5/8-inches long with threaded end and tapered tip. No flint present. Bands painted black. Stable but hairline crack at front of lock, chip at rear of lock and hairline crack at end of musket. Vice marks present. Wear and fine rust present on metal parts.
