10/16" bore with a 40" barrel length. All three steel barrel bands stamped “U”. Both sights are present as is the ramrod. The U.S. Bridesburg plate is dated 1862. The Needham Conversion has some pitting on the top of the conversion. The buttplate is stamped “U.S.” and the stock in good condition. There are four small holes in the stock on the left side behind the plate with normal wood dings and nicks. Under the second barrel band there is a splice which is secure and covered by the barrel band. The action is strong in both positions and works perfectly. This rifle conversion is one belonging to the Irish American Fenian Brotherhood who plotted to invade Canada.
