A classic example of an early mode of transportation converted to toy form. This example, which has a clockwork motor, is overall in good to very good original finish. Extensive stenciling to the body of the carriage, with an opening rear door to gain entrance to the seating area and being driven by the high seated attendant who is controlling the two white steeds. The white horses have some intermittent touch up to their paint, the rear door appears to have exterior repaint as well as some around the door and the right side appears to have paint enhancement to the one panel directly below the six windows. Overall this is still a remarkable and worthy toy especially considering its age…1860 - 1870’s. Featured in Antique Toy World Article. October 2010 - Page 49
