An unusual form for this early train engine. Normally this toy is found with two large front wheels and a directional pivoting wheel under the cab. In this case the large drive wheels are located under the cab with side rods extending to the steam chests(normally found under engine cab) & the pilot wheels are pivoting for directional use. This is a spectacular example with a bevy of embossed tin not only to the boiler and engine front but to the cab roof as well! One would venture that this must have been the deluxe model with all the bells & whistles! A nice example with restoration to the red boiler area. Featured in Antique Toy World Article.
