A fabulous toy created in miniature form by Hubley Manufacturing of Lancaster, PA during the 1930`s. It is hard to comprehend that this actually was a real life fire pumper, at first glance it looks like something Bubba Smith created in the barn out back. Regardless this was an enormously successful piece of equipment manufactured in the late 1920`s by the Ahrens-Fox Fire Company of Ohio who had been in business since 1910. An intricately cast iron toy with so many details and features the toy was susceptible to lost parts or broken castings when the child played with it outside. Overall this example is in very good condition with the typical repair to part of the front cast bumper & the nickel plated hose reel appears to be of newer vintage. The original paint is largely intact as are the original white rubber tires over wooden hubs.
Item Dimensions: 11 -1/2" L.
