This lot consists of two jointed dogs seldom seen on the secondary market. The first is a c. 1950 era Schuco Trip-Trap Dachshund. This dog is made from mohair. He has brown and black glass eyes, a black molded nose, and a stitched mouth. He has has small wheels built into his paw pad area; this feature allowed him to waddle about when pulled along. The second is a Horsman Puppy Pippin doll from the early 20th century. He has a composition head and a tan velvet body which has darkened over time. There is a tear in the fabric in the neck area, but this is covered over and stabilized by the dog’s wide collar, which appears to be original. This item was designed by Grace G. Drayton. Pippin retains his original cloth label, sewn on his belly, which reads, “Copyright 1911 E I Horsman Co.” Condition: As noted. With light playwear and surface losses to Pippin’s composite head. Good to very good condition overall.

Item Dimensions: Largest: 11" L.
TWO UNUSUAL AND HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE NOVELTY DOGS.
