26" barrel in 12 bore with a 2-3/4" chamber, choked improved cylinder. These shotguns were manufactured for the U.S. government during the second World War and were often used to train new recruits the art of hitting a moving target. The basis for this shotgun was the Remington Model 11 Sportsman. The frame was finished with the parkerized matte military style. Left side of frame is stamped "U.S." with Ordnance bomb. The barrel is blue with a single bead front sight, strong factory legends, and retains virtually all of its original finish. The frame has some light storage marks and some aging but still retains 95% of its original finish. Walnut forend is not checkered and is in excellent condition, but does have a 4" closed crack. Mirror bore. Perfect action. Excellent example of U.S. World War II military shotgun.
