This is the smallest version of Steiff's very rare standing Spotty Fox Terrier. He is made from mohair, unjointed, and has a distinctly puppylike appearance. His once white mohair is detailed with a still visible black airbrushed rings around his pert tail and one eye. He comes to life with black and brown glass pupil eyes, a brown hand embroidered nose and mouth, and gentle folded ears. If you look closely, he retains just a speck of his original red highlighting on his lips. His red ribbon is not original to him, but his bell probably is. This pattern was made in 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, and 22 cm in 1928 and seldom, if ever, is seen on the secondary market - especially in this highly desirable smallest size. Spotty retains his long trailing "f" button as his Steiff ID. Size: 2-1/2" tall. Provenance: From a fine Connecticut collection. Condition: As noted. In good condition with noticeable mohair loss and playwear but entirely structurally sound overall.

Item Dimensions: 3 - 1/4" L.
