This is the smallest version of Steiff's "Jackie" Teddy bear, introduced in 1953 in in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Teddy bear in 1903. This little love is five ways jointed and made from blonde mohair. Her face is detailed with brown and black pupil eyes, brown airbrushing, and a brown hand embroidered nose and mouth. She has peach colored felt paw and foot pads, and a distinctly "portly" appearance: a short, stocky body; chunky, minimally curved limbs; and no breaks indicating her wrists. Like all Steiff Jackie Teddy bears, this one has a pink stitch across her nose and a distinctive belly button. Her silk ribbon is original to her. This pattern was produced in 17, 25, 35, and 75 cm from 1953 through 1955 only. Jackie bears are rare on the secondary market given their appeal, limited production, and their brief time in the line. Jackie retains her raised script button and US Zone tag as her Steiff IDs. Provenance: From a fine Connecticut collection. Condition: As noted. Nonworking squeaker. In very good condition with light overall playwear.

Item Dimensions: 6" T.
