This mismatched plate armor cuirass features a remarkable breastplate. The steel has oxidized and developed a dark patina that offsets the stunning brass sunburst and Arms of France heraldry and brass domed rivets along the edges. A crack is starting at the neck. Circa second half of 17th Century. The backplate has been cleaned and is a dull grey with brass domed rivets and leaf shoulder strap anchors. The left shoulder strap is broken off and missing. The right one is broken off and hanging by a thread on the burlap lining.

Condition: (Good).
