The two pieces that make up this plate armor cuirass are mismatched. The character of this remarkable breastplate makes up for it. The steel is so heavily pitted that it has taken on an interesting texture. The heavy brass reinforcing has numerous deep scars from blade strikes and a reddish patina. The metal of the back plate has taken on a brassy patina with brighter brass domed rivets along the edges. The leather of the shoulder straps are cracked and brittle and are armored with scaled brass that has a reddish patina.
