Steiff's bears made for Harrod's are collector's favorites. These patterns tend to be old fashioned and nostalgic, and reflect the long-term legacy of this German-UK partnership. This lot consists of two delightful musical editions produced for Brompton Rd. The first is Steiff's Edwardian Opera bear. The bear is 42 cm, fully jointed, and made from lovely mohair. He wears a black velvet cape; his music box plays Andrew Lloyd Webber's "All I Ask of You." He has a special Harrod's chest tag. This design was produced in 1994 in an edition size of 2,000 pieces; this example is number 1836. The second item is Steiff's Extravagance Bear. The bear is 42 cm, fully jointed, and made from tipped mohair. He carries a miniature Harrod's hat box. His music box plays Shirley Bassey's "Big Spender." He has a special Harrod's chest tag. This design was produced in 1997 in an edition size of 2,000 pieces; this example is number 186. Condition: As detailed. Both editions are complete with all IDs, original packaging, paperwork, and documentation. In excellent to like new condition.
