Comprised of: 1) First Empire Cuirassier Breastplate. Stamped "DOBBELAER" on wearer's left shoulder. All rivets have been removed and the patina looks intact. This model of cuirass has slots at the shoulders and flanks instead of pectoral studs to latch the shoulder straps. There are remnants of black paint on the interior that is now mixed with areas of oxidation. There is a 1/2" long crack developing on the edge of the raised collar. 2) Breastplate's rounded edges are accented by strips of tin with a triple bead and affixed with brass dome rivets. The flanks also have brass latches. The brass pegs to latch the shoulder straps are lower than the sternum, and the steel's dark brown patina is lighter where the straps used to be.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: Largest: 19"H x 15"W x 7"D
LOT OF 2: BREASTPLATES.
