This powder horn is 11-3/8” x 2-15/16” at the base with a domed wood base held onto the horn by three large tacks on either side and two on the front and back. Carved into the right side is the letter “H” and “R.T.H.” on the left side of the wood base and there is a large hand forged nail in the middle of the bottom to fill the horn. It has a very nice tan and cream coloring for 2/3rd from the base then deepens into a dark brown near the top. The pouring spout has a 1-3/16” brass tip with a piece of horn for a stopper.
