4-1/2" barrel in 8mm caliber. Referred to as the large trigger guard model, manufactured at the Toriimatsu factory. Has the late coarse knurl round cocking knob. Manufactured November 1943 to February 1944. Has the blade dovetail to base front sight, blued magazine with pot metal base, and mahogany grips with 24 serrations. Rear sight not milled into frame. Magazine is numbered 989. Both grip panels have matching last four digits of serial number. Pistol retains 95% of the original hot salt blued finish. Grips are excellent with a couple of minor dings. Bore and action are fine. Very fine all original example of a mid-war Type 14.
