24" barrel in .44-40 caliber. This rifle was shipped on July 11th, 1877 as a round barrel, full magazine standard rifle with the exception of the special order set trigger. The barrel and tube are a lovely mix of soft blue-brown patina, as is nose cap. Standard Winchester sporting front sight. Has a replaced sporting rear sight. Has the early oval thumbprint dust cover, not raised. Top of the frame has flashes of brilliant blue. Right side of frame has 20-30% brilliant blue, balance softening to a blue-brown patina. Left side is basically soft brown patina with some minor storage/cleaning marks. Traces of color on hammer. Wood is excellent, proud to metal, with no cracks. Strong rifled bore and perfect action. Extremely nice, untouched all original Model 1873 early 1st Model with a lovely antique appearance.
