Caliber .30-06, Barrel length 24”. This custom sporting rifle was built using a Springfield Model 1903 action that was manufactured in 1909. It was re-barreled without provision for a rear sight. Features a high ramp front sight with band, rear sight is a Lyman Model No. 48 receiver peep, custom walnut stock with checkered forend and pistol grip, checkered metal grip cap and checkered steel buttplate. Quick release sling swivels installed and black forend tip. The stock has been decorated with four inlaid white diamonds. When stock is removed, there is a repair inside channel in center section. Also upon inspection, bottom of receiver has a repair weld. Very good rifled bore and fine action. Barrel and frame retain approximately 90% original blued finish. Floor plate is thinning with high edge wear on the trigger guard. One should take note that this is a low number receiver and should use caution when reloading as pressures from standard cartridges maybe harmful.
