Round 28-3/4” Damascus barrels in 12 gauge pinfire with two gold bands inlaid around muzzles and gold inlaid vines around breeches and on vent matte rib. Rib inlaid “J.A. COSTNER IN HANAU” in gold. All steel forend with lever release, back action pinfire locks, and hammers all engraved with fine scrollwork and each panel with gold-inlaid border with intertwined gold inlaid “FP” on bottom of forend in script, double triggers. Steel sling swivels. Highly figured walnut stock with checkered wrist and relief carved cheek piece, one-piece carved wood trigger and gold inlaid and scroll engraved steel butt plate. Excellent condition, barrels with light brown patina, other steel components with light grey patina, bores spotted. Stock with scattered marks from use and a 3-1/2” wide area of residue from a shooting pad on both sides of buttstock.
