This is the first of this type we have seen. It is a full size, all metal constructed, replica of a .32 caliber top break Iver Johnson double action revolver with the owl head grips. The backside of this ink well has a square base and two metal peg stands. It is stamped "Pat April 10, 1906". What appears to be the cylinder is hinged at the top to open to take a glass ink well. Gun retains traces of nickel finish, inside hinge has a couple minor solder repairs. Most likely used as promotion giveaways to potential customers or dealers. Production must have been very small or we would have seen more examples. Fine early advertising promotional desk item.
