Circa 1835. Small dress Schively of very unusual size; inbetween the smallest and the large, we have never seen another this size. Classic blade with swedge on right side, stamped by the maker on the haft "H. Schively 75 Chestnut Street Philad.". Blade with many scratches but in very nice condition. German silver mounts, checkered ivory scales with four decorative rivets and a decorative nameplate each side. Solid German silver scabbard, very rare feature, in good condition; engraved full length on one side with presentation "to Van Dyck Smith from A. Lindsey". Small chip to ivory grip lower right side.
