Dated May 1877. Made of yellow gold. Top is inlaid with a very rich slab of grey gold quartz, and front is inlaid with mosaic panel 1-1/4" high and 7/8" wide. Four corners of panel are grey quartz, and diamond shaped center is black gold quartz. Rest of gold is engraved in floral, leaf and geometric designs. Back of case features strange presentation "From San Frisco" over an elaborate three initials, and underneath is the date "May 1877". Bottom has beveled edge with some minor dents and one hole on the corner.
