Watch is solid yellow gold dated 1882. Marked on face by watch maker "American Watch Co.". Back is inlaid with a large round piece of black quartz heavily laden with gold. Quartz is in wonderful condition with beveled edge; there are a few tiny chips and usual cracks. Presentation engraved inside "Maybelle Thornton Christmas 1882". Gold quartz chain slab is inlaid front and back; white on one side and black on the other. There are six links. Flat bar to go through vest buttonhole is inlaid with two quartz slabs; one rose and one grey. Chain is rose gold and there is a rose gold star fob; five points inlaid with gold quartz. All quartz in fine condition; there are the usual cracks and no chips on the chain and fob.
